Air Filter Maintenance
3. Remove the foam air filter(s).

Wash air filter in a solution of household soap and

warm water.

Rinse parts thoroughly with water.

6. Using a clean, absorbent cloth, squeeze air filter ele-
ment dry, being careful not to twist or tear the filter.

Coat the air filter in clean engine oil.

8. Squeeze out excess oil.

CAUTION
Frequent or prolonged contact with engine oil may cause
skin cancer.
• Thoroughly wash hands and any areas of skin exposed
to used oil with soap and water.
NOTE:
Engine will smoke during initial start-up if too much oil is
left in filter.
Reinstall air filter(s).

For HW3000 model only: Reinstall the metal air filter plate
in the support brackets if it fell out during air filter removal.

10. Reinstall the air cleaner cover.
