Operation
When the function test is concluded, the
version number of the software is displayed
(e.g. Dräger CMS V3.01), together with the
prompt to load the chip.
If the analyzer is briefly switched off for not
more than one minute, a shorter function test
will be performed when it is switched on
again.
7.2

Selecting the chip

Select the appropriate chip for the gas or
vapour to be measured.
Note the following criteria:
Gas or vapour to be measured
Measuring range
Available measurement channels
(see page 39)
Instructions for Use of the chip
Expiry date of the chip
Chips must be stored in their original
packaging and protected from exposure to
light. The shelf life may be reduced when
exposed to light.
Only remove the chip from its packaging
when required for measurement.

Hold chip at the edges to avoid damaging the measuring channels.
Note the expiry date for the chip. Chips with expired date must not be used.
Expired, damaged or dirty chips can result in measurement errors.
Chips with mechanical damage must not be used as they may damage the analyzer.
The procedure to be followed is displayed on the analyzer when the sliding switch is moved
to position 1!
Refer to "Fault – Cause – Remedy", page 59, if an error is indicated.
A corresponding prompt is displayed if the Remote System has been connected to the analyzer.
The Remote System is used for measurements in inaccessible locations (note the Instructions
for Use of the Remote System).
