Description of operation
The electro-sensitive safety switch T4000 Compact
comprises three components:
coded actuator,
read head,
evaluation unit.
The evaluation unit and the read head are
integrated in a standard housing according to
EN 60947-5-2.
Each actuator supplied features an electronic code
that is unique to the system used. The actuator
code cannot be reprogrammed.
The safety switch with integrated evaluation unit
and read head is attached to the stationary part of
the safety guard.
When the door is closed, the actuator attached to
the moving part of the safety guard is moved to-
wards the read head housed in the safety interlock.
When the switch-on distance is reached, power is
supplied to the actuator via the inductive read head
and the data can be transferred.
The read-in bit pattern is compared with the code
stored in the evaluation unit. If the two sets of data
match, the safety outputs (semiconductor outputs)
are released and the door signal output (semicon-
ductor output) is set to HIGH.
Due to dynamic scanning by the actuator and the
diversity of the safety electronics in conjunction with
two monitored safety outputs, the evaluation unit
enters the safe state when any detectable error
occurs.
