Electrical connection
The operating voltage U
polarity reversal. The LA/LB and -LA/-LB contacts
are protected against short-circuits, but not
against reverse polarity.
For use in accordance with
power supply rated as suitable "for use in class 2
circuits" must be used. No currents > 8 A are
permitted!
Common mode faults between LA and LB can only
be detected by means of external clocking. The
use of protected cable routing will prevent the
possibility of common mode faults along the
cable.
The device complies with EMC guidelines, even
with an unshielded connection cable. For appli-
cations especially sensitive to interferences, a
shielded cable can be connected to the shielding
spring. This can be connected electrically to the
chassis ground via the mounting screws. The
shield of the free wire has also to be connected to
the chassis ground.
The shield of the connecting cable is internally
connected to the shielded core of the safety
interlock via the knurled nut of the M12 connector.
The safety switch is fully encapsulated, which
makes it impossible to remove the cover from the
housing.
If the device fails to function after the operating
voltage has been applied (e.g. green LED STATE
doesn't light up), the safety switch must be
returned unopened to the manufacturer.
