Safety notes
The C 2000 and M 2000 operate as standalone devices or as part of a
system together with a safety controller, emergency stop modules or the
safety evaluation unit LE 20. For more information refer to the manual:

SICK refuses to accept any warranty claims if the device is not used for
its specified purpose or if it has been modified, even if these modifica-
tions were carried out during assembly and installation.

General safety instructions and protective
measures
The following points must be observed in order to ensure regulation use
of the devices.
2 . 2 . 1
Safeguarding the protective function of C 2000 and
M 2000
The protective function of the device can only be ensured if the
following requirements are satisfied:
Installation of the devices must been planned in accordance with
the TECHNICAL DESCRIPTIONS for SAFETY LIGHT CURTAIN C 2000
/ MULTI-BEAM PHOTOELECTRIC SAFETY SWITCH M 2000 / SAFETY
EVALUATION UNIT LE 20.
The external voltage supply of the device must withstand a momentary
power failure lasting 20 ms (to EN 60204). Suitable power supply units
are available from SICK as accessories (Siemens series 6 EP 1).
The Important Notice label must be affixed at a clearly visible point
close to the sender or receiver unit.
The purpose of the functional test performed before initial commis-
sioning is to confirm the safety requirements stipulated in the relevant
national/international regulations, especially the machine and
equipment usage directive (EC Declaration of Conformity).
