A.1.

Approval Documents

A.1.1. United States Authorization
Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. has investigated the IND780 terminal and issued a notice of
authorization to apply the UL mark indicating compliance to the U.S. requirements for a Division 2
and Zone 2 terminal. UL does not normally provide a certificate for this approval so the Notice of
Authorization to Apply the UL Mark is included on page A-9 as a reference.
A.1.2. Canadian Authorization
Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. has investigated the IND780 terminal and issued a notice of
authorization to apply the UL mark indicating compliance to the Canadian requirements for a
Division 2 terminal. UL does not normally provide a certificate for this approval so the Notice of
Authorization to Apply the UL Mark is included on page A-9 as a reference.
A.1.3. Control Drawing
In order to meet the U.S. Division 2 and Zone 2 requirements and Canadian Division 2
requirements, a control drawing was created. This drawing is a guide for installation and
connection of the IND780 terminal when used in a Division 2 or Zone 2 hazardous area in the U.S.
and Canada. Review this drawing before installation. If there are any questions regarding the details
in the control drawing, please contact the local METTLER TOLEDO representative. Refer to pages A-7
and A-8 for the drawing.
A.1.4. European Certificate (ATEX)
UL International Demko A/S has issued a Type Examination Certificate indicating compliance of the
IND780 terminal with European requirements for Essential Health and Safety Requirements and the
ATEX directive 94/9/EC for Category 3 equipment. Review this certificate for details of the approval.
