4 | Safety
4.1 | Intended use
The FOR-ONE motorcycle trailer is a cargo trailer, specifically designed for transporting motorcycles.
The trailer must only be loaded with motorcycles and the maximum payload must not be exceeded.
The driver of the towing vehicle is responsible for securing the load at all times. For this purpose, the
specific national laws must be adhered to as applicable.
The trailer must only be used for its intended purpose. The manufacturer and distributor are not
liable for any use other than the intended purpose. This applies in particular to failure to adhere to
the safety instructions and any resultant damage or injury.
4.2 | Legal requirements
In order to be able to drive on public roads with a towing vehicle/trailer combination, both the towing
vehicle and the trailer must have vehicle registration. The trailer is supplied with an EC type approval.
The EC type approval or CoC document (certificate of conformity), a valid personal identification
document and insurance certificate are required for registration. The motor vehicle registration office
issues part 1 and part 2 of the motor vehicle registration office.
The maximum speed for towing vehicle/trailer combinations on German roads is 80 km/h. However,
the trailer has the structural requirements for subsequent approval for 100 km/h as per the 9th
Exemption Regulation to the German Road Traffic Regulations (StVO) (applies in Germany). It is
imperative to adhere to the structural specifications of this exemption regulation. Before using the
trailer on public roads, the user must thoroughly acquaint themselves with the applicable national
traffic regulations and driver's licence requirements and towing vehicle requirements as a towing
vehicle/trailer combination in the respective country. The trailer must only be used on public roads if
it meets the applicable requirements together with the towing vehicle and the driver is in possession
of the required licence.
4.3 | Foreseeable misuse
The following are considered foreseeable misuse:
• Transporting goods other than motorcycles
• Transporting people
• Conveying excessive loads
• Technical and structural modifications to the trailer which are not approved by the manufacturer
• Use of spare parts or wearing parts which have not been approved by the manufacturer
• Exceeding the coupling load and/or axle load
• Transporting an unsecured load or a load which is not correctly secured
• Driving with faulty electrical/lighting system
• Driving with a damaged trailer
4.4 | Safety instructions
DANGER!
Risk of fatal injury!
Before driving with the trailer, always make sure that the towing coupling is
correctly closed and the safety cable is applied around the ball coupling on the
towing vehicle.
If the coupling is not closed properly and the safety cable is not hooked up, the
trailer can come loose, enter into oncoming or trailing traffic and cause serious
accidents.
DANGER!
Risk of fatal injury!
Never drive with an unsecured load. If the load is not secured or not secured
sufficiently, it can be catapulted from the trailer and enter into oncoming or
trailing traffic, causing serious accidents.
