Assembly of the valve

Comply with the cleanliness and safety standards defined in these instructions for correct, safe use of gas.
Make a visual inspection of the inside of the cylinder, checking for any contaminants (e.g. water, insects, dust, dirt in
general).
Check cleanliness of wrenches and tools used for assembly.
Check compatibility of cylinder and valve threads and that these are not damaged or dirty.
In the case of cylindrical threads, check presence of gaskets and that these are undamaged and clean.
If gaskets are replaced, request related spare parts from Pergola s.r.l.
If a rupture disc (5) is present, cylinder filling pressure must be lower than the value indicated on the rupture disc.
Check that the cylinder and valve are manufactured for the same type of gas; otherwise, do not fit the valve on the cylinder.
The valve must be used exclusively with the gas marked on the body of the cylinder by the Manufacturer. It
must never be used with any other type of gas.
The valve must be mounted on the cylinder according to the values shown in the table below.
Warning: Over-tightening, excessive quantities of teflon, irregular distribution of teflon and lubricating
substances on the thread may damage this, making it impossible to re-use the valves and defeating the excess
flow limiter (3) where installed.
To fasten the valve to the cylinder, insert the wrench in the specific spaces on the body of the valve above the
threaded connector (1). Do not exert force on other valve components to avoid damage to these. Do not
damage external components, for example the gauge (14) or the on/off valve (4).
Do not disassemble valve parts for fitting on the cylinder. On request, Pergola s.r.l. will provide assembly
equipment.
Protect the valve with the proper protecting shroud as indicated by the applicable standards.
The valve mounted on cylinders with capacity greater than 5 LT must be protected with the proper shroud as per
the EN ISO 11117. If a marking indicating the weight in KG (ex. 100 kg) is present on the valve it is possible to
avoid the use of the shroud up to the total weight of the cylinders, valve and content equivalent to the weight
indicated on the marking (ex. 100 KG).
