3 Applications

The CD / MP3 player CD-80USB is specially
designed for professional DJ applications. Many
functional features have precisely been matched
to this range of application, e. g. single title
replay, automatic beat counter, change of speed
without changing the pitch, various effect func-
tions, anti-shock memory.
The CD-80USB will replay audio CDs, even
CDs you have burnt yourself (audio CD-R) and
CDs with titles in MP3 format. However, prob-
lems may occur when replaying rewritable CDs
(CD-RW), depending on the CD type, the CD
burner and the burning software used. Via the
USB port, you will also be able to replay MP3
files from a hard disk or a USB flash drive.
.
The unit uses dangerous mains
voltage. Leave servicing to skilled
personnel only. Inexpert handling
may result in electric shock.
4 Setting Up and
Connecting the Player
The CD / MP3 player is designed as a free-stand-
ing unit: Set it up on a flat, horizontal surface.
Prior to making or changing any connections,
switch off the CD-80USB and the units to be con-
nected.
1) If your mixer or amplifier is provided with a
digital input, connect this input to the yellow
RCA jack DIGITAL OUT (31).
For units without digital input, connect the
stereo output LINE OUT (32) – white jack for
the left channel, red jack for the right channel
– via a stereo cable with RCA connectors to
the CD player input of the mixer or amplifier.
2) Via the jack REMOTE (33), the CD / MP3
player is set to Start and Pause via a mixer
with fader start function. Set the CD-80USB
to the type of fader start of the mixer; see
chapter 6.
3) With a second CD-80USB, an alternate start
of the replay is possible (
For this purpose, connect the jack RELAY
(34) via a cable with 3.5 mm plugs to the jack
RELAY of the second player.
4) Finally connect the plug of the mains cable
(36) to a socket (230 V~ / 50 Hz).
