When a button (12–16) or the programme selector (2) is pressed,
approx. 2 seconds to indicate the safety lock. If the programme selector (2) is adjusted during a wash cy-
cle, the programme that was set before the safety lock was activated will be continued.
17. Maintenance and cleaning
NOTICE!
Possible material damage!
Risk of damage to the appliance due to improper use of cleaning agents.
 Do not use any aggressive chemical agents, scouring agents or hard sponges for
cleaning. This can damage surfaces and seals.
17.1. Drum cleaning
Run a wash programme at high temperature (90°C) without laundry items and detergent every two months
to self-clean the washing machine.
 If necessary, use limescale removers suitable for washing machines, following the manufacturer's instruc-
tions for the limescale remover.
 Connect the washing machine to the power supply and turn on the stopcock.
 Set the programme selector (2) to the Cotton 90 °C programme.
 Press the Start/Pause button (12).
Make sure that no metallic objects such as pins, paper clips or coins etc. remain in the drum, as
this can lead to the formation of rust spots in the drum.
 A chlorine-free cleaning agent can be used to remove any rust stains. Follow the manufacturer's instruc-
tions for the cleaning agent.
 Do not attempt to remove rust stains using steel wool or other abrasive cleaning agents as they may
damage the drum surface. A damaged drum surface can damage the textiles to be washed.
17.2. Cleaning the washing machine door
 After each wash, remove lint, hair, detergent residues or other impurities from the washing machine door
seal using a damp cloth. Carefully open up the seal by hand and remove the dirt.
 Wipe the inside and outside of the washing machine door with a damp cloth.
17.3. Cleaning the housing/control panel
 Clean the appliance housing and the control panel with a soft cloth lightly soaked in mild soapy water.
When cleaning the control panel, make sure that no moisture penetrates the electronics.
17.4. Cleaning the pump fi lter
WARNING!
Risk of injury!
There is a risk of injury from scalding caused by hot liquid. The water in the drain pump
can be hot.
 Wait until the water has cooled down before carrying out any cleaning or mainte-
nance work.
Clean the pump filter in each case after about 20 wash cycles. Disregarding this maintenance procedure
will lead to the drain system becoming clogged.
