15.8. Automatic load control with half load

The washing machine is equipped with an automatic load control feature (Eco-Logic system).

maximum load weight, regardless of the programme selected.

15.9. Laundry distribution control

The electronic control system of the washing machine is equipped with an unbalance control feature.
The distribution of the laundry items is checked at the beginning of the wash, the drum rotates for a few min-
utes and then the wash cycle begins.
The distribution of wash items in the drum is also checked before the spin cycle. If too much imbalance is
detected, the system will attempt to change the distribution of the laundry in the washing machine several
times.
Sometimes these measures are insufficient for the proper distribution of the laundry (in the case of terry tow-
elling bathrobes washed with other items, sheets that have twisted into a ball and trapped other garments
etc.).
The appliance can then react in two ways:
− The uneven distribution of the laundry is accepted, but at reduced spinning speed.
− The laundry is found to be unevenly distributed and the spin cycle is not carried out.
The programme duration is extended by a few minutes and the laundry may still be very wet when the pro-
gramme ends.
 In each case, open the washing machine door (4) when the programme ends and then distribute the
laundry manually.
 Then close the washing machine door (4) and select the Schleudern (spin) programme again and re-
duce the spin speed if necessary.

Door lock

The washing machine is equipped with a door lock that prevents the washing machine door (4) from open-
ing during the wash cycle. At the end of the wash programme, the machine automatically unlocks the wash-
ing machine door (4) after a few minutes. The time taken to open the washing machine door (4) may vary.
If the temperature in the drum is high, the washing machine door (4) remains locked until the wa-
ter cools to below 60°C.

16. Operation

 Prepare the laundry: pre-sort laundry items, close buttons and zips, remove metal buckles, empty pock-
ets, close bed covers and pillow cases, pre-treat stains, put the laundry in. Put delicate items and bras in
a textile bag.
 Connect the mains plug (10) to a suitable socket and turn on the water tap (if applicable).

16.1. Opening/closing the washing machine door

 To open the washing machine door (4), pull the door handle (5). Open the washing machine door (4)
fully to load the drum with laundry.
 To close the washing machine door (4), gently press the washing machine door (4) closed until you hear
it click shut.

16.2. Selecting and starting a wash programme

 Set the programme selector (2) to the desired position (to select the appropriate wash programme, see
also "Overview of the wash programmes").
