 Never add more fabric softener than indicated on the chamber of the compartment (MAX mark).

15.3. Dosage

 Follow the instructions of the detergent manufacturer.
 Note that the dosage depends on the degree of soiling, the amount of laundry and the hardness of the
water.
Incorrect dosage can have the following consequences:
Not enough detergent:
− A grey coating may accumulate on your laundry.
− Buildup of grime. Buildup of limescale.
Too much detergent:
− Severe foaming
− Poor effectiveness of the wash cycle, poor rinsing of the detergent from the laundry.

15.4. Dirt

15.4.1. Stubborn stains

For stubborn stains, pre-treat the laundry with a stain remover before washing.

15.4.2. Heavy soiling

 Wash several smaller loads if heavily soiled.
 Add a little more detergent than recommended.
 After washing heavily soiled laundry (e.g. work clothes) or textiles that lose their fibres, it is recommend-
ed to run a wash programme at a temperature of 60°C without any wash items to rinse and clean the
washing machine.

15.4.3. Light soiling

 Use a suitable wash programme for small quantities of lightly soiled items e.g. Cotton 20 °C.
Selecting short wash programmes saves electricity and water consumption.

15.5. Water hardness

Hard water causes the buildup of limescale in washing machines.
Check with your local water supplier if you do not know the hardness level in your area. We recommended
using water softeners for each wash.

15.6. Drop in voltage

Switching off the washing machine at the mains power supply or a drop in voltage does not cancel the pro-
gramme. The programme is retained and is continued once the power is switched on again. Do not open
the washing machine door (4) during a power failure.

15.7. Loading

NOTICE!
Possible material damage!
Overloading the washing machine can damage the washing machine and the washed
clothes!
 For the maximum amount of laundry, refer to "12. Overview of the wash programmes"
on page 53.
 The maximum capacity of the drum is 8 kg. Do not force the clothes into the drum as
this will cause a deterioration of the washing result!).
