IDLE ADJUSTMENT
The idle for this unit was set by the
factory for optimum performance for
most operating conditions. However,
in some cases, (due to altitude,
temperature, etc.) the engine may
need a slight adjustment to the idle
speed.
After the unit warms up, if unit does
not idle after restarting 2 times, follow
these steps to adjust the idle throttle
position.
Locate the idle adjustment screw (K)
on the carburetor (See Figure 16).
Using a #2 Phillips or 3/16" slotted
screwdriver, turn the screw clockwise
1/4 to 1/2 turn to increase the idle
speed. Unit should idle properly. If unit
idles too fast, rotate the idle
adjustment screw counterclockwise.
If adjustment is not successful, take the
unit to a local small engine repair
facility for assistance.

NOTICE
these steps may
cause varnish to form in the carburetor
(which can cause difficult starting) or
permanent damage
1. Perform all the general
maintenance recommended in the
Maintenance Schedule.
2. Clean the exterior of the pump.
3. Drain fuel from the fuel tank by
removing the fuel cap and tipping
the pump over and draining the
oil/fuel mixture into an approved
container for storing gasoline.
4. After fuel is drained, reinstall the
fuel cap and start the engine. (Do
not run pump dry – fill pump with
water to lubricate the pump seal.)
