This pump is intended for use in places
where a portable pump is required and
where electricity is not readily
available.
This pump is intended for pumping
only substantially clean water at
ambient temperature.

General Safety
Information
1. Know the pump application,
limitations, and potential hazards.
Read these rules and the
instructions carefully. Failure to
follow them could cause serious
bodily injury and/or property
damage.
Never

run
engine in an enclosed area.
Exhaust gases contain deadly
poisonous carbon monoxide,
which has no odor or taste.
Do not
DANGER
!
use to
pump flammable or explosive
fluids such as gasoline, fuel
oil, kerosene, etc. Do not use
in flammable and/or explosive
atmospheres. This pump is intended for
pumping only substantially clean water
at ambient temperature. Failure to
follow this warning can result in
personal injury, death and/or property
damage.
2. Observe all safety precautions for the
handling of the fuel.
FUEL SAFETY
Gasoline
WARNING
!
is highly
flammable and its vapors
can explode if ignited. Take
the following precautions:
•
Store fuel only in containers
specifically designed and
approved for the storage of fuel.
•
Avoid creating a source of
ignition for spilled fuel. Do not
start the engine until fuel vapors
dissipate.
•
Always stop the engine and allow
it to cool before filling the fuel

tank. Never remove the fuel cap
or add fuel while the engine is
hot. Never operate the unit
without the fuel cap securely in
place. Loosen the fuel cap slowly
to relieve any pressure in the
tank.
•
Add fuel in a clean, well-
ventilated outdoor area where
there are no sparks or flames.
Slowly remove the fuel cap only
after stopping the engine. Do not
smoke while fueling or mixing
fuel. Wipe up any spilled fuel
from the unit immediately.
Always wipe unit dry before
using.
•
Move the unit at least 30 feet
(9 m) from the fueling source/area
before starting the engine. Do
not smoke while operating the
unit. Keep sparks and open
flames away from the area while
operating the unit.
3. Pump should be located near the
water being pumped and should rest
on a level solid foundation. Do not
suspend pump by piping.
4. Do not use torches or apply excessive
heat, fire or flames to this pump as an
explosion may result.
5. Before working on the unit, allow
unit to cool, then disconnect the
spark plug wire.
The pump, suction
NOTICE
line, and discharge
line MUST be protected against freezing
temperature. Failure to do so could cause
serious damage and voids the warranty.
6. Do not run pump dry. Water is
required to lubricate the shaft
seal.
