Intended environment
The conditions for the scanner's operation are limited as follows:
– Use only indoors
– Ambient temperature: 5 °C to 35 °C
– Relative humidity:
– At temperatures up to 31 °C: 20% – 80%
– At temperatures up to 35 °C: Maximum 20% – 50%, gradually decreasing
– Not suitable for humid areas
– No flickering light (e.g. fluorescent tubes; moving blinds; shadows from trees in the wind)
– Maximum ambient brightness 500 lux; no direct sunlight in the scanning area
– Clean and dust free environment
– Install horizontally on a stable, vibration-absorbing workstation
– Maximum operating altitude: 3000 m above sea level

Operator's obligations
The operator is responsible for the safe operation of the device.
– Ensure that only instructed, trained or qualified persons work with the scanner.
– Ensure that every person working with the scanner for the first time has read and understood
these Operating Instructions.
– Pay special attention to the safety instructions in these Operating Instructions and on the
scanner.
– Keep these Operating Instructions in the scanner area and pass it on to new personnel.
– Make sure that nobody works on the scanner who does not have sufficient technical knowledge.
– Ensure that the operating personnel is instructed at regular intervals about safe scanner
operating practices.
– Consider the health and safety regulations in your country.
– Ensure that during service, maintenance or cleaning work, safeguards are in place to prevent the
scanner from being started up without authorization.
– Only use original replacement parts approved by the manufacturer. Otherwise guarantee
regulations and product liability risks could be affected.
– Repairs may only be carried out by a certified service provider.
– Ensure that the labels attached to the scanner when delivered remain clearly legible. Missing or
damaged warning signs must be replaced immediately.
2.4 Personnel qualifications
These Operating Instructions are intended for the personnel who operate and maintain the
scanner. The operating and maintenance personnel must be selected by the operator and must
fulfil the following requirements:
– Basic technical skills
– Read and understand these operating and maintenance instructions.
– The person must be strong enough to lift the scanner and move it to its final location.
– Operatives must not be visually impaired.
The following measures must be carried out by the operator to ensure appropriate knowledge of
the scanner's operation:
– Product training
– Regular safety instruction
– Inspection, maintenance, cleaning and repair may only be carried out by technical specialists with
product-specific training
