7 FAQ – troubleshooting
Scanner does not start
The scanner is not recognized by the PC.
The scan result shows streaks
The scan result shows holes
– Check the power supply if the scanner does not light up at start-up.
– Contact our customer service. See chapter "Customer support".
– Make sure you use high-quality USB cables with a maximum length of
1.4 m (or an active USB extension from CADstar). Test by changing the
cable.
– Check the required USB 3.0 specification of the USB port.
– Check that all drivers are up to date.
– Check that the LED on the scanner is lit.
– Restart the PC and the scanner
– Contact our customer service. See chapter "Customer support".
Pay attention to light changes during the scan. Light changes can lead
to streaks on the scan result. This can be caused by blinds moving
during the scan or sunlight and flickering light. You can test the lighting
conditions with the help of a slow-motion recording from your smart
phone.
– Perform an integration using the integration tool.
– If there are dark spots on the object to be scanned, use a scan spray.
