Derosting the ridge***
•
Frost settles on the rear wall o the ridge chamber. It is removed
automatically. During the derosting, the condensate, which contains
contaminants may clog the opening in the through. Should it occur,
careully unclog the opening with the cleaning plug (g. 13).
•
The appliance operates in cycles: it rerigerates (then the rost set-
tles on the rear wall), and derosts (water ows down the rear wall)
•
Disconnect the appliance rom the mains beore cleaning by remov-
ing the plug rom the mains socket or switching o the use. Prevent
water rom penetrating the control panel or the light.
•
Do not use derosting aerosols. They may cause the ormation o an
explosive mixture, or contain solvents which may damage the plastic
components o the appliance and even be harmul to health.
•
Make sure the water used or cleaning does not ow into the evapo-
ration container through the discharge opening.
•
The whole appliance, except or the door gasket must be cleaned
with a mild cleaning detergent. The door gasket should be cleaned
with water and wiped dry.
•
Wash all the accessories (vegetable containers, door shelves, glass
shelves, etc.).
•
WARNING: Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accel-
erate the derosting process, other than thode recommended by the

Derosting the reezer**
•
It is recommended to combine derosting the appliance with washing
it.
•
Excessive accumulation o ice on the reezing areas impairs the ap-
pliance's reezing capacity and increases the energy consumption.
•
Derost the appliance at least once or twice a year. In case o a higher
ice build-up, derosting must be carried out more requently.
•
I there is ood in the reezer, set the knob to the max. position about
4 hours beore the planned derosting. This will ensure the possibility
o storing the ood at the ambient temperature or a longer time.
•
Ater taking the ood out o the reezer, put it in a container, wrap it
with several layers o paper, a blanket and store it at a cool place.
•
The derosting operation should last as short as possible. Long stor-
age o ood at the ambient temperature shortens their shel lie.
