Operation
WARNING
Danger of injury!
Remove the battery from the power tool before carrying
out any work on the power tool (e.g. maintenance, tool
change, etc.) and when transporting and storing it.
There is a risk of injury if the on/off switch is operated
unintentionally.
ATTENTION
Make sure that the ambient temperature does not ex-
ceed 50°C and does not fall below -20°C during work.
ATTENTION
The product is part of the 20V IXES series and may on-
ly be operated with batteries of this series. Batteries
may only be charged with battery chargers of this se-
ries. Observe the manufacturer's instructions.
9.1
On/Off switch (1) (Fig. 1)
ATTENTION
Before use, check the inserted tool to ensure all fasten-
ing parts are attached correctly.
Note:
Always switch the angle grinder on before making contact
with the material and then guide the product to the work-
piece.
Note:
If the product blocks due to overload and switches off, it
restarts automatically as soon as the cause of the block-
age is no longer present (auto-start function).
Switching on
1. Push the ON/OFF switch (1) forwards to switch the
product on.
CAUTION
Always switch the product off after the work and wait
until the grinding disc has come to a complete standstill
before placing the product down.
Switching off
1. To switch it off, simply release the on/off switch (1).
9.1.1
Continuous operation
Switching on continuous operation

9.2
Adjusting the speed
Note:
The speed can also be changed during operation.
24 | GB
The speed can be preselected with the setting wheel for
speed preselection (2):
1 =
lowest speed, e.g. for surface machining: Grind-
ing, polishing
6 =
highest speed, e.g. for cut-off grinding
We recommend determining the speed using practical
tests.
The speed that makes sense when working depends on
what tasks you are doing with the product.
When cut-off grinding, the use of a high speed is usually
not a problem. When sanding or polishing the surfaces, a
low speed is better.
10 Working instructions
Note:
Grinding bodies may only be used for the recommended
applications. Otherwise, it could break, be damaged or
cause injuries.
ALWAYS replace the grinding wheel if the product has
been dropped during work.
A grinding or cutting wheel must NEVER be knocked or
banged against the workpiece.
Especially when working on corners, sharp edges, etc.,
make sure that the grinding wheel does not jump or get
stuck. This could cause loss of control and setbacks.
NEVER use the tool with wood cutting or other saw
blades. Such saw blades, when used on a grinder, cause
frequent kickback and loss of control, which can lead to
injury.
Rough grinding
WARNING
Never use cutting wheels for roughing!
• Move the angle grinder back and forth across the
workpiece with moderate pressure.
• With soft materials, guide the roughing disc at a
flat angle across the workpiece, with hard materi-
als use a somewhat steep angle.
Cut-off grinding
WARNING
Never use roughing wheels for cutting!
• Only use approved fibre-reinforced cutting or
grinding discs that are approved for a circumferential
speed of no less than 80 m/s.
CAUTION
The grinding tool continues to run after it has been
switched off. Do not try to slow it down by pushing
against it laterally.
• Secure the workpiece. Use clamping devices/bench
vice to hold the workpiece in place. In this manner, it
is held more securely than with your hand.
• Always switch the product off before placing it
down and wait until the product has come to a
standstill.
