A4 RECARO Sport C: Electrical connection
with supply cable harness (Figures D to G)
Included with the seat are:
• One cable harness with a pre-assembled connector
for the main plug (1)
• Ring tongue (ground connection)
• One connectivity terminal (power connection)
• One fuse holder with two spring contacts and a
25 A fuse
The console includes:
• Disabling kit to retrofit the side airbag
4.1 Installation
The enclosed cable harness is pre-assembled with
5 separate wires on the main plug (Figure F)
(Pin 4, 5, 6, 10, 20).

Retrofitting the airbag
Use the disabling kit supplied with the console to retrofit
the airbag.
1.
Cut off the airbag connector on the original seat.
2.
Crimp the enclosed crimp terminals for the main
plug mating connector to the 3 cables from the side
airbag (pin 4, 5, 6).
Further installation work as described in
Section B2.
Electrical connection on RECARO Sport C seat
1.
Fit the ring tongue (3) onto the end of the brown
cable (-).
2.
Connect the brown cable to an grounding point on
the vehicle body.
3.
Connect the red cable (+) to a terminal with switched
power supply (e.g. Terminal 15).
Select depending on the vehicle type as described
in Section A1.2:
• Variant 1 – Connection type A

Risk of explosion!
Only trained professionals may carry out installa-
„
tion work on the side airbag and on the correspond-
ing cables; in Germany: as per Sections 7 and 20
German Explosives Act (Sprengstoffgesetz).
WARNING
Unintentional triggering of airbags and belt ten-
sioners!
Serious injuries caused by flying parts.
Only a specialist workshop may refit airbags and

belt tensioners.
Remove the ignition key and do not re-insert it until
„
refitting has been completed.
Disconnect the battery negative terminal and leave
„
the battery disconnected until refitting has been
completed.
Before starting work, wait for 20 minutes so that the
„
capacitors in the belt tensioners' and airbags' con-
trol units have time to discharge.
If you wish to reuse or refit the original seat,
RECARO recommends obtaining a suitable
cable harness for this vehicle from Spare Parts
to retrofit the cable harness.
Refitting will be easier as a result and the origi-
nal seat remains unchanged.
