Control Unit
SET 4
This key is available in two places on the Control
Unit. One is on the overheating control part of the
Control Unit for selecting the correct upper over-
temperature. This key is active when the 5 is
opened. The second 4 key is located on the pro-
gram control part of the controller and is used for
stepping between different settings, e.g. tempera-
ture and times for the various extraction steps.
LOCK 5
The key is used to lock the selected overtempera-
ture and prevent it from being changed by unau-
thorized persons. When the key is in the open
padlock position the overtemperature can be
changed by pressing the 4 key. The key should
be controlled/handled by the laboratory supervi-
sor.
START/STOP 6
This key is used to start or stop the analysis pro-
gram.
PLUS/MINUS 7 8
Keys used between analyses to select a program.
They can also be used as stepping keys in combi-
nation with the 4 key to increase or decrease the
temperature settings.
POSITION CONTROL 9
This key is active only between analyses and not
active when a program is running. It is pressed
each time the Extraction Unit has to be moved to
different positions for loading/unloading sample
thimbles or cups. Each time the key is pressed the
sample positioning rods and/or condensers move
in a preprogrammed way. There are three possible
positions.
Position 1
Loading/unloading thimbles = condensers in up-
per position and sample positioning rods in lowest
position. This is the default position when the
power is switched on.
Position 2 / Position 4
Loading/unloading cups = condensers in upper
position and sample positioning rods in upper po-
sition.
Position 3
Mate cups and condensers = condensers move to
intermediate position to mate with the cups hang-
ing in the cup stand.
AIR F
This key is active when the program has reached
the recovery step of the extraction and is used to
start the air pump.
HOT PLATE E
This key is used to preheat the hot plate prior to
analysis. It also opens the cooling water valve
when the hot plate is turned on.
