Specifically, for fuels, the limitations are:
– for substances and articles belonging to packing group III (diesel) the maximum transportable total quantity per transport unit is equal
to 1,000 litres.
If the quantity of dangerous goods transported exceeds the limits indicated in paragraph 1.1.3.6 of the ADR (i.e. more than 1000 litres of
diesel fuel only), the transport does not benefit from any kind of exemption.
We refer in this case to the official text of the ADR, to driver's knowledge (which must have ADR licence) and the specific obligations that
ADR poses as a responsibility of the firm both with regard to staff training (chap. 8.2.3 ADR), and as regards the obligation to appoint an
authorised consultant for the safety of the transport of dangerous goods according to the Lgs. D. February 4, 2000, n. 40.
3.3. PROTOTYPE APPROVAL ISSUED BY THE MINISTRY OF INFRASTRUCTURE AND
TRANSPORT
Each CTK and HIPPOTANK

proved by the Ministry of infrastructure and transport according to Chap. 6.5 ADR.

which shows UN marking assigned and the main features of the GIR/IBC.

3.4. UN MARKING

ADR approvals references are given in the marking stamped on the metal label plate riveted to the body of the GIR/IBC.
We report below the means of UN marking, with reference to CTK 220:

3.5. COMMISSIONING REPORT

Each IBC/IBC is delivered to the user with an initial inspection report, issued by the Certifying Body, certifying that the CTK or HIPPOTANK
was verified and fully corresponds to the approved prototype.
This report (see figure below) must be kept by the owner of the CTK or HIPPOTANK

Within 30 months after commissioning the CTK and HIPPOTANK
fied the entry into service, or other authorised Institution.
After 30 months from the date of commissioning, the CTK or HIPPOTANK
months from the deadline, the CTK or HIPPOTANK

As non reclaimed empty container, the CTK or HIPPOTANK
submitted to the tests of inspection.
Only as reclaimed empty container, the CTK or HIPPOTANK
and as such not subject to ADR. EMILIANA SERBATOI srl is able to supply the review service including:
– General checks on the state of the container and on the proper functioning of the devices
– any reconditioning and replacement of faulty or damaged parts
– inspection of the body accredited for renewal
ATTENTION: ADR provides for plastic GIR/IBC (31H2) the maximum useful life of 5 (five) years.
This means that, at the end of the 60-month period following the date of the commissioning report (initial inspection), the GIR/IBC can no
longer BE USED for the transport of dangerous goods.
At the end of the five-year deadline, EMILIANA SERBATOI can order, at user' request, the complete replacement of the container resulting
in issuing a new serial number and initial inspection report, authorising its use for additional 5 years.
The electric discharge device, if running, and without prejudice to any functional revision, can be reused, if applicable.
The old container, after removal of the identification plate, can be decommissioned or returned to the customer that will user it exclusively
for storing and/or transporting of non-dangerous liquid (not subject to ADR), subject to any different requirement in legislation applicable
to the intended use.
