Stopping the engine
Release the throttle and allow the engine to idle.
Put the START/STOP switch down. This stops the
engine.
In an emergency stop, simply activate the chain brake
and put the START/STOP switch in the down position.
Operational test of the chain brake
Test the chain brake regularly to make sure it is
working.
Always perform the chain brake test before the first
cut, after each longer cut and also after any service
intervention on the chain brake.
Place the saw on a clean, firm and level surface.
Start the engine.
Grasp the rear handle with your right hand.
Use your left hand to hold the front handle firmly (not
the chain brake handle).
Press the throttle lever to the 1/3 position, then sud-
denly activate the handbrake lever with your left hand.
The chain should stop immediately. After this
happens, immediately release the throttle.
! WARNING: Activate the chain brake slowly and
deliberately. Make sure that the chain does not touch
anything. The tip of the saw must not touch anything.
! WARNING: If the chain does not stop, it means
that the chain brake is not working properly. In this
case, switch off the engine and do not use the saw
any further. Take it to the nearest authorized service
center for repair.
If the chain brake functions properly, turn off the
engine and return the chain brake to the off (upper)
position.
Lubrication of saw chain / bar
The guide bar and saw chain must never be without
oil. To minimize the friction of the guide bar, constant
lubrication of the saw chain is necessary and nece-
ssary. Never remove oil from the bar and chain. Ope-
ration of the saw with too little oil reduces the cutting
efficiency, shortens the length life of the saw chain,
causes rapid dulling of the chain and excessive wear
of the bar due to overheating. Evidence of a small
amount of oil is smoke, a change in the color of the
bar and the appearance of minor damage to the bar.
The new saw chain stretches during cutting, so it is
necessary to tension it occasionally. A new chain re-
quires tensioning after approx. 5 minutes of operation.
Adjustment of chain lubrication with oil
NEVER adjust the chain lubrication with oil while the
engine is running!
There is an adjustment screw for chain lubrication on
the bottom of the saw. Lubrication can be adjusted by
carefully turning with a flat screwdriver.
ATTENTION: Lubrication was adjusted by the manu-
facturer.
Turn the adjusting screw only with maximum caution!
Max. 1/4 turn!!!
Chain lubrication check
Go full throttle! Aim the tip of the bar at a light surface.
If oil is sprayed from the bar, the chain lubrication is
working properly.
OPERATION - CUTTING TECHNIQUES
Felling
Felling is the term for cutting trees. Small trees up to
6 -7 inches (15-18 cm) in diameter are usually cut in
one fell swoop. Larger trees require staggered sha-
ding. Fall jams will determine the direction in which
the tree will fall.

! WARNING: When cutting like this, it is necessary to
secure and clean the escape route (A) before starting
cutting. The escape route should lead against and
diagonally to the rear of the predicted tree fall. (fig. 8)
