Initial settings
Selecting disc languages [ovponty]
This is to select the audio soundtrack language, subtitle lan¬
guage and the language used in title menus or DVD menus
which will always be used for every disc to be played back.

At the initial settings screen
Press A/V to select "1 Disc Languages"
and press SELECT.

Press A/V to select the preferred item
(1-3) and press SELECT.
When "1 Audio" is selected
English:
English is selected. {Factory preset)
French/Spanish:
Each language is selected.
Original:
The original language of each disc will be selected.
Other** k*: Another language can be selected. (Refer to
the language codes on page 91. Press CLEAR
if an incorrect language code is entered.)
When "2 Subtitle" is selected
Automatic:
The same language selected for the "Audio" will be selected.
(Factory preset)
•If the language selected for the "Audio" is actually used during
playback, the subtitles will not appear.
•II another language is used during playback, the subtitles will
appear in the language selected at the setup "Audio".
English/French/Spanish:
Each language is selected.
Other
****: Another language can be selected.
(Refer to the language codes on page 91.

When "3 Menus" is selected
English:
English is selected. (Factory preset)

Each language is selected.

Press A/T to select the preferred language
at each screen and press SELECT.
The screen illustrated in step 1 is displayed. Press A/T to
select "0" and press SELECT to return to the initial settings
screen.
Note:
• If the language selected is not available on the disc, the lan¬
guage designated by each disc will be selected.
