11. COMPRESSOR
11.1.
Compressor lubricant
The compressor with R-407C coolant uses FV68S oil. Each manufacturer uses a different oil for
their products. As the quality of the oil directly affects the operation of the compressor, handle
with care.
The coolant system must not be left open for more than 15 minutes due to the
hygroscopic properties of the oil. The oil must not be mixed with any other substance
because it may lose its properties.
11.2.
Charging with coolant
It is essential to open the solenoid valve of the coolant circuit (powered with 230 V)
before any operation to drain or charge with coolant and/or lubricate the compressor.
If this is not the case, the process must be repeated.
If it is necessary to top up or recover coolant, use a suitably reinforced electronic
scales designed for use with a coolant bottle.
The coolant should be added in LIQUID state.
It is essential to ensure that water is circulating in the heat exchanger when charging
or discharging coolant in the coolant circuit (risk of freezing).
The input of R-407C coolant in liquid state in the empty tubes may result in
temperatures of less than 0 ºC until the internal pressure reaches 7 bar.
The exit of coolant from the coolant circuit may result in evaporation and cooling of
the coolant leading to the freezing of standing water in the hydraulic circuit.
If it is necessary to weld a pipe, dry nitrogen must be circulated through the piping.
The combustion of coolant produces toxic gases.
Never overload the machine with coolant.
Never use the compressor as a drainage pump.
If there are signs of coolant losses during the operation, run a leak test.
Leaks must be repaired immediately.
To detect minor leaks of R-407C, an HFC leak detector is required.
If a gas leak is detected, the coolant load must be recovered in full. Pressurise the
circuit with dry nitrogen. If there are no links, create a vacuum and then charge with
coolant.
