PROBLEM
Engine will not start.
Engine hard to start.
Engine lacks power.
AC receptacle does not work.
Smell of propane gas.
Gas leak detected from cylinder, regula-
tor, or other connection.
Humming noise from regulator.
If problem persists after trying the above solutions, contact customer service or a qualified service center for assistance.

TROUBLESHOOTING
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Lubricant level is low.
Spark plug faulty, fouled, or improp-
erly gapped.
Propane cylinder is empty.
Vapor lock at coupling nut to propane
cylinder.
Engine is cold and needs to be primed.
Weak spark at spark plug.
Air filter element clogged.
Item plugged in is defective.
Unit is overloaded.
Propane cylinder valve open.
Hose or valve leaking.
Improper installation and loose
connections.
Mechanical failure due to rusting or
mishandling.
Cylinder valve turned on too quickly.

SOLUTION
Engine is equipped with Low Oil Shutoff.
If engine lubricant level is low, it must be
filled before unit will start. Check engine
lubricant level and fill, if necessary.
Replace spark plug.
Replace 1 lb. or refill or replace 20 lb.
propane cylinder.
Turn off generator and close cylinder
valve.
Press primer button one time.
Replace spark plug or contact a quali-
fied service center.
Check air filter element. Clean or
replace as needed.
Try a different item.
Depress overload reset button.
Turn off cylinder valve immediately and
tighten connections.
Be sure 1 lb. cylinder is threaded cor-
rectly and tightened securely. Turn off
cylinder valve immediately and check
for damaged hose or valve. Perform
leak test; see Testing Cylinder Con-
nection for Leaks in the Assembly
section.
Tighten fittings and see Testing Cyl-
inder Connection for Leaks in the
Assembly section.
Replace 1 lb. or refill or replace 20 lb.
