Emptying the grass
collection box
1. Switch off the engine and wait for the
blade to come to a stop.
2. Lift the rear impact protection (6).
3. Remove the grass collection box (5).
4. To empty the grass collection box (5),
grab it at the carrying handle (5a) and
at the bottom (see also "Disposal/envi-
ronmental protection").
5. Mount the grass collection box again.
Cleaning and Servicing
Have any service and main-
tenance work on the device
that is not described in this
instruction manual performed
by a professional. Only use
original spare parts. Accident
hazard!
Maintenance and cleaning
work must always be carried
out with the engine switched
off and the spark plug connec-
tor removed. Risk of injury!
Allow the device to cool off
before performing any main-
tenance or cleaning. Engine
elements are hot. There is a
danger of burns!
Wear gloves when handling the
blade.
Cleaning and general
maintenance work
Cleaning and maintenance work on the
underside of the appliance:
Place an underlay under the petrol
lawnmower.

2. Tilt the device back so that the spark
plug faces upwards.
Make sure that a second person
holds the device because there is a
danger of tipping backwards.
Do not tilt the device to the side or
forwards. Operating fluids could
escape and the engine could be
damaged.
• Always keep the device clean. Use a
brush or cloth for cleaning, but do not
use any aggressive cleaning agents or
solvents.
Do not use any water to clean the
engine, it could contaminate the fuel
system.
• After mowing, remove any plant re-
mains using a piece of wood or plastic.
Clean the engine cover with ventilation
holes (finger protection) in particular.

sharp objects, as these could damage
the device.
• Check the device before each use for
obvious defects such as loose, worn or
damaged parts. Ensure that all nuts,
bolts and screws are firmly in place.
• Check the covers and protective de-
vices (

correct fit. Replace these if necessary.
Replacing the air filter
Never run the device without an air
filter. Dust and dirt may otherwise
enter the engine and cause dam-
age.
