with fire or sparks.
• Give the engine time to cool off before
you store the device in an enclosed
space. Possible fire hazard.
• To avoid risk of fire, keep engine, ex-
haust and the area around the petrol
tank free of grass, leaves or leaking
grease (engine oil).
• Check the grass collection unit regu-
larly for wear or loss of function.
• Replace worn or damaged parts for
safety reasons. Replace defective muf-
flers.
• If you need to drain the petrol tank,
you must do so outside.
• Treat your device with care. Keep the
tools sharpened and clean in order to
be able to work better and safer. Fol-
low the maintenance instructions.
• Do not try to repair the device yourself,
unless you have professional training.
All work not specified in this instruction
manual may only be carried out by cus-
tomer service centres authorised by us.
• Store the device in a dry place and
out of reach of children. Devices can
be dangerous if operated by inexperi-
enced persons.
• The security systems or devices of the
lawnmower must not be manipulated
or deactivated.
The user should not change or tamper
with any sealed engine speed control
settings.
Initial start-up
Caution! Risk of injury due to
rotating blade. Only perform
work on the device when the
engine is switched off and
has come to a stop.
Before starting the device, you must

Remove all transport safety devices,
-
mount the grip rod,
-
Fit the wheels
-
fill the engine oil,
-
fill the petrol,
-
mount the grass collection box if
necessary,
-
set the cutting height if necessary.
Mounting the lower bar
Make sure that the Bowden cable
(
19) is not crushed during the
assembly of the grip rod.
1. Unscrew the two Phillips screws (4a)
from each of the lower bars (4).
2. Insert the lower bars (4) into the mount
on the lawn mower housing (12).
The lower bar (4) with the pre-assem-
bled starter cable guide (21) must be
inserted into the right-hand side of the
lawn mower housing (12) as viewed in
the direction of travel.
3. Fasten the lower bars (4) with one Phillips
screw (4a) each. You can use the screw-
driver (26) supplied for this purpose.
Mounting the handlebar
If necessary, remove the handle nuts
(3a) and the screws (3c), together
with the washers (3b) and the
starter cable guide (21) from the
lower bars (4) before assembling
the handlebar.
1. Place the handlebar (1) onto the lower
bars (4).
2. Slide a screw (5c) through the holes on
the grip rods on both sides.
3. Slide one washer (3b) on each of the
screws (3c).
