(e) If the external thermocouple is not needed, disconnect it and insert the integrated
thermocouple into its receptacle.
Installing the external thermocouple
Install and connect the external thermocouple when you need to heat a liquid and
monitor its temperature.
a) Thread the stand bar into the tapped hole in the corner of the appliance
housing.
b) Slide the crosspiece clamp onto the stand bar and secure with the respective
clamp knob.
c) Insert the stand arm mount into the crosspiece clamp and secure with the
respective clamp knob.
d) Insert the metal shank of the external thermocouple sensor into the mount.
The sensor should have the end with the lead connection upward.
e) Connect the external thermocouple sensor lead to the receptacle in the back
of the appliance.
f) The appliance is ready for use.
Setting the temperature
(a) Turn on the appliance with the power I/O switch [4].
(b) Press the heating on/off key [C]; the display reads the actual temperature, PV, and
the last temperature setting entered, SV.
