Operating sequence:
a) Place the liquid in a suitable container and place the magnetic stirrer bar in
the container.
b) Place the container with the liquid in the heating mantle chamber and
immerse the thermocouple sensor tip in the liquid.
c) Plug the power cord into a mains outlet.
d) Turn on the appliance with the power I/O switch.
e) Turn on the stirring and set its target speed as explained in "Setting the
stirring speed".
e) Turn on the heating and set its target temperature as explained in "Setting
the temperature".
f) When done operating the appliance, turn off the heating, stop the stirring,
turn off the appliance with the power I/O switch, and unplug the appliance
from the mains.
Liquid temperature measurement:
(a) Remove the integrated thermocouple element from the receptacle in the back of
the appliance.

(b) Connect the external thermocouple to the receptacle in the back of the appliance.
The display shows the actual temperature, PV, and the temperature setting, SV.
(c) Insert the metal tip of the thermocouple sensor into the liquid to be measured. The
display shows the actual temperature measured, PV, and the temperature setting, SV.
(d) A safety trip is triggered whenever the external thermocouple is disconnected. The
display reads "hhhh", the green LED goes off, and the appliance stops. When this
happens, inspect the condition of the appliance.
