Maintenance is critical to prolong the life and
performance of any agricultural implement. Good
maintenance of the machine ensures good perfor-
mance, long life of your equipment and increase
work safety.
The operation times reported in this manual are for
informational purposes only and are referenced un-
der normal use and therefore may vary by type of
service, environment, seasonal factors, etc.

General maintenance

For every 10 hours of work
At the end of every working day, it is recommended


to clean the machine so that its part remains in good
operating conditions.
Make an overall inspection for loose or damaged


parts.
Make sure the blades are in good condition, sharp


and perfectly still.
For every 50 hours of work
Make sure the belts are properly tensioned.


Make sure all nuts and bolts are tight.


Counter cutting blade
Periodic tightening of screws as well as the
adjustment of the counter cutting blades are
essential. The adjustment is done by loosening the
hexagon nut (1) as in figure 7 and by displacing the
counter cutting blade until the cutting blades pass
at a distance of approximately 1.5 mm from the
counter cutting blade (figure 8).
The counter cutting blade must be replaced
whenever it show wear signs or cracks, it is also
possible to reverse its side and sharpen it following
he same angle.

Fold an A4 paper sheet 16 times in order to obtain
the approximate distance between the cutting
blade and the counter cutting blade and use this as
a template, if necessary, or use another appropriate
measuring tool.

Sharpening of cutting blades
TRAPP shredders leave factory with temperate
cutting blades.
Sharpen the cutting blades when the edge is dull.
Sharpen the side indicated only (figure 9), trying to
keep its original inclination. Whenever sharpening,
be careful to remove the same amount of material
from each cutting blade to keep balance and to
avoid vibrations of the axle unit. The cutting blades
shall be substituted whenever optimum sharpening
is no longer possible.
