Sharpening of cutting blades
The TRAPP schredder leaves factory with
tempered blades, extending cutting life.
Sharpen blades when you observe that the cutting
edge is blunt. Only sharpen the indicated side
of the blade (fig. 1). Try to keep the original
inclination. Whenever sharpening, be careful to
always to remove the same amount of the material
from each blade not to impair balancing of the
axle unit, thus causing vibrations.
Substitute blades whenever optimum sharpening is
not possible.

Counter cutting blade
Replace it when there are signs of wearout.


The distance between the blade and the counter


cutting blade shall be of approximately 1.5 mm,
as in figure 2.
Periodically tighten the equipment.


The adjustment or substitution of the counter


cutting blade is done as shown in figure 3 and as
in the items bellow:
1. Remove the traction springs (1).
2. Lift the feeding box cover (2).
3. Remove the lower cylinder feeder (3).
4. Remove the fixing screws and the counter cutting
blade (4).

5. Fix the new counter cutting blade with the
respective screws, following the distance
between the blade and the counter cutting blade
(approx. 1.5 mm), assemble the lower cylinder
feeder and replace the traction springs.

Tightening
Due to the constant vibration of the equipment,
the natural tendency with time is for screws
to loosen. Therefore, a periodical check is
recommended, and if necessary tighten the
screws. Tighten with caution so as not the strip
screw thread.
Attention!
Turn off shredder and remove electrical plug
from outlet before cleaning or servicing.
