6.1 Routine maintenance
WARNING!
•
Wear a protective mask and direct the air outlet downwards to avoid breathing in noxious vapours.
•
Before carrying out any maintenance procedures, disconnect the air supply hose from the tool.
•
Any maintenance procedures not dealt with in this manual should be performed at authorised service centers.
Maintenance work is to be performed by operators.
6.1.1 General
Before carrying out any maintenance:
•
Engage the safety catch (5).
•
Disconnect the air supply hose.
•
Wear heavy-duty work gloves.
WARNING!
Do not use hydraulic oil or brake fluid. These may cause irreparable damage.
•
Periodically check the oil level in the lubricator of the compressor.
6.1.2 Lubrication
•
Every 20 working hours remove the air hose and insert few drops of oil into the fitting (3).
•
Every 20 working hours lubricate the conrod connection (8) with an oiler. When doing it, the operator must wear suitable
protective gloves and manually close the blades until the conrod gets out (8).
6.1.3 Blades adjustment
•
Tighten the blade bolt (7) progressively until the blades work well.
6.1.4 Blade sharpening
•
Every 2 working hours it is suggested to sharpen the mobile blade (16) cutting edge a little by using the adequate filing
stone.
NOTE
The sharpening filing angle should be 45°.
6.1.5 Cleaning – Storing the tool
•
Before storing the tool at the end of the working season, it is suggested to clean it and to insert few drops of diesel fuel into
the air hose fitting (3) by the tool hand grip. Connect the air hose and press the trigger (6) few times while the tool idles.
This operation will avoid dirt and humidity residue inside the shear.
WARNING!
Do not throw the oil out in the environment. Always observe current environmental protection laws when disposing of
the oil.
