2.0TDi Pumpe Duse diesels
-New engines
-Refer to Application Chart for model usage
2.0TDi Pumpe Düse diesels have twin camshafts and a mechanical timing belt tensioner. They require the same DT.4636 Crankshaft Locking Tool as 1.9TDi
PD engines (in Kit DT.VAG), but a New Tensioner Pin DT.4640T7 (see above 1.9Tdi PD notes), and New Tensioner Adjuster DT.4633 and additional Camshaft
Locking Pins DT.4440V2 (included in DT.VAG-A/-U Update Kit)

Camshaft Timing – Twin Camshafts

2 x DT.4440V2 Camshaft Locking Pins
The crankshaft must be "locked" in "timed position using DT.4636. Check that the timing marks are visible in "windows" of the camshaft sprockets. Slacked the
3 x bolts on each sprockets allowing them to move within the elongated slots.
Insert the 2 x DT.4440V2 Locking Pins through the vacant outer elongated slots in the sprockets and through into the holes in the cylinder head, to 'lock' the camshafts.
Timing Belt Tension Applications
IMPORTANT: Belt tension adjustment must only be carried out when the engine IS COLD

NEW Tensioner Tools - DT.4640T7 Locking Pin & DT.4633 Adjuster
2.0TDi PD engines have a mechanical belt tensioner and use Tensioner Adjuster DT.4633. The procedure for using DT.4640T7 Pin on the belt tensioner is the
same as the 1.9TDi PD MECHANICAL tensioner detailed above for 1.9TDi PD engines. However on 2.0TDi PD engines when re-fitting the new belt and applying
tension to align pointer with the "notch", when tightening nut the pointer will move 5mm to the right. Do not adjust as this will correct during running.

VAG PETROL ENGINES
1.2 Petrol Single & Twin Camshaft – 6v. & 12v.
New engines – Codes: AWY and AZQ -Refer to Application Chart for model usage
The V W Group 1.2 engine range, introduced from 2001, can be a single camshaft 6 valve (AWY) or a twin camshaft 12 valve (AZQ) engine and require
DT.4813 Flywheel Locking Pin (common to both engines), DT.4811Camshaft Setting Tool for single camshaft (AWY) and DT.4812 Camshaft Tools (Pair) for twin camshaft (AZQ) engines.
24
DT.4811 Camshaft Setting Tool – AWY Single Camshaft
Checking valve timing
DT.4811 enters through the top of the engine to locate in the timing 'slot' in the camshaft.
Remove the air cleaner, Hall sender unit and engine speed sensor.
Turn the crankshaft, in the normal direction of rotation, so that the 'timing slot' in the camshaft is seen in the hole for the Hall sender unit.
Insert DT.4811 Camshaft Setting Tool. It should locate into the camshaft with ease. Secure in place with M6 bolt.
25
DT.4813 Flywheel/Crankshaft Locking Pin
DT.4813 is for both twin camshaft and single camshaft engines (AWY + AZQ)
The crankshaft is locked in timed position by inserting DT.4813 Pin through housing and into the flywheel.
Valve Timing Adjustment
Should it not be possible to insert both the Camshaft Tool and Flywheel Pin with ease, the timing can be adjusted by inserting DT.4811 Tool in the camshaft and
using a suitable sprocket counter-holding tool, to hold the camshaft sprocket and slacken its bolt. Turn the crankshaft until DT.4813 Flywheel Pin can be inserted
correctly into the flywheel.
Counter-hold the camshaft sprocket and tighten the sprocket bolt.
Remove both tools, turn the crankshaft 2 times, and recheck valve timing by ensuring DT.4811 and DT.4813 fit correctly and with ease.

DT.4812 Camshaft Setting Tools (Pair) – AZQ Twin Camshaft
