Make sure that battery terminals are touching compartment terminals.
Lift and gently turn the scale upside down on a flat surface to
expose the Battery Compartment.

Remove the cover of the Battery Compartment by lifting the tab.
Remove the old batteries and properly dispose of them.
Place the new batteries in the Battery Compartment so that the
positive (+) and negative (-) terminals match the diagram in the
compartment.
