BACK-FLUSHING THE PRE-FILTER
You should back-flush the Pre-Filter (up to three times) when a significant reduction in
flow occurs. The disposable EM Media Insert should be replaced if back-flushing the Pre-
Filter fails to restore acceptable flow.
IMPORTANT: NEVER BACK-FLUSH THE MAIN FILTER
Back-flushing the Main Filter will damage its internal structure, causing the filter to become
ineffective. Back-flushing can also contaminate the downstream media of the Main Filter so
that it will no longer filter properly.
Note: The back-flushing process requires two people.
1. Make sure the water is turned off.
2. Remove the back-flow adapter from the Inlet Assembly.
3. Remove the Inlet Assembly by turning it counterclockwise until it releases.
4. Remove the Pre-Filter from the Main Filter by turning it counterclockwise until it
releases.
