I.1.9.1
Identification of the type of refrigerant used
The units use R407C gas. This gas is a mixture made up of the
following components:
• (HFC-32) 23% by weight CAS Nº: 000075-10-5
• (HFC-125) 25% by weight CAS Nº: 000354-33-6
• (HFC-134a) 52% by weight CAS Nº: 000811-97-2
I.1.9.2
Professional exposure limits for R407C:
HFC 32
TWA 1000 ppm
HFC 125
TWA 1000 ppm
HFC 134a
TWA 1000 ppm – 4240 mg/m
I.1.9.3
Toxicological and medical first aid
information
The mixture does not contain substances hazardous to health in terms
of EEC directive 67/548 and subsequent amendments.
It has low absolute toxicity, but high levels of exposure can cause
abnormal heart rhythm and can have fatal results. High concentrations
in air can cause anaesthetic effects and asphyxia. In the form of
droplets or splashes, the product can produce frost burns to the eyes or
the skin.
In case of contact with the eyes: Rinse immediately using an
eyewash or clean water, keeping eyelids open, for at least ten
minutes. SEEK MEDICAL ASSISTANCE.
In case of contact with the skin: Thaw tissue using water.
Remove contaminated clothing. Attention: Clothing may stick to
the skin in case of frostbite. In case of contact with skin, wash
immediately with lukewarm water. If irritation or reddening occurs,
consult a doctor.
In case of inhalation: Move the person away from the exposure
area, keep him warm and let him rest. Administer oxygen if
necessary. Carry out artificial respiration if breathing has stopped
or shows signs of stopping. In case of cardiac arrest, perform
external cardiac massage. SEEK IMMEDIATE MEDICAL
ASSISTANCE.
In case of ingestion: Although this is an unlikely source of
exposure, if it does occur, do not provoke vomiting. If the injured
person is conscious, rinse his/her mouth with water and make
him/her drink 200-300 ml of water. SEEK IMMEDIATE MEDICAL
ASSISTANCE.
Information for the doctor: Treat symptoms and carry out
support therapy as indicated. Do not administer adrenalin or
sympathomimetic drugs and similar following exposure, because
of the risk of cardiac arhythmia and consequent possible cardiac
arrest.
I.1.9.4
Firefighting measures
This refrigerant is not flammable in air in normal conditions of
temperature and pressure. However, thermal decomposition causes the
emission of toxic and corrosive vapours. During extinguishing
operations, breathing apparatus and a complete protective suit should
be worn. Although all methods of extinction are suitable, avoid spraying
water because of the presence of electric current in the unit.
I.1.9.5
Instructions for handling refrigerant fluids
DANGER!
User and maintenance personnel must be
adequately informed about the risks of handling
potentially toxic substances. Failure to observe the
above precautions may cause personal injury or
damage to the unit.

I.1.9.6
Individual protection measures necessary
for handling refrigerant fluids
If there is insufficient ventilation and when for any reason high exposure
concentrations are possible, the use of the following personal protection
gear is recommended.
• Procedure in case of accidental refrigerant escape If the
conditions are sufficiently safe, isolate the source of leak. If the amount
of the spill is limited, let the material evaporate, as long as adequate
ventilation can be ensured. If the spill is considerable, ventilate the area
adequately. Contain the spilt material with sand, soil, or other suitable
non-absorbent material. Prevent the liquid from entering discharge
pipes, drains, sewers, underground facilities or manholes in the working
area, because suffocating vapours may form.
• Instructions for disposal. Disposal must be carried out in
accordance with current local regulations.
I.1.9.7
Information about remaining risks and
unavoidable hazards

IMPORTANT!

Pay the utmost attention to the signs and symbols
located on the appliance.
If any risks remain in spite of the provisions adopted, or if there are any
potential or hidden risks, these are indicated by adhesive labels
attached to the machine in compliance with standard ISO 3864.

IMPORTANT!
Only use original spare parts and accessories.
RHOSS S.p.a. shall not be held liable for damage
caused by tampering or work carried out by
unauthorised personnel or malfunctions caused by
the use of non-original spare parts or accessories.
