Instructions for use

Hygiene monitoring systems

IC10/20FR can run an approximate quantitative analysis
of PRO1 and PRO2 Hygiene monitoring system, adjus-
ted by a BSA (Bovine Seric Albumin) calibration curve.
This analysis allows carrying out the traceability of
the surface cleaning control. Also, the system is ready
to perform analysis of other PRO products, once the
firmware is updated.
Readings will be able to initiate once the incu-
bation temperature has been selected and is
stable. The lights corresponding to the selected
temperature (37 ºC or 60 ºC) will blink until the
temperature is reached, and then stay stable. It
is recommended to perform PRO1 and PRO2
readings at 60 ºC.

PRO1

NOTE: PRO1 functionality is enabled from version 2.7.

Calibration Process:

It must be done periodically or each time a
pen corresponding to a new fabrication batch
is used.
1-Press and hold the
enter to PRO program selection mode. A beep will
sound and lights corresponding to PRO programs
enabled in your firmware version will start blinking.
Press
button as many time as necessary to
select the required program. Then wait three seconds
to confirm the selection. The incubator will emit two
beeps indicating that a program has been selected.
Other products programs may be chosen with the
lights of same panel with the previous IC10/20FR in-
cubator firmware update.
2-Remove the swab from the device and moisturize it
with 3 drops of water. Then activate the device making
sure its' swab has not come in contact with any surface
(negative control or clean condition). This will be used
as a reference by the incubator. To activate the device,
follow steps from 1/C to 1/H described in Figure 1.
3-Insert the pen in the PRO incubation/reading posi-
tion (Figure 2). Make sure to place PRO1 as it is indica-
ted on the incubator label. When PRO1 is inserted in
the correct position, it cannot be rotated (Figure 2).
4-Press and hold
+
This will start the pen's incubation process: 15 minu-
tes at 60 ºC. The lights
king and will remain like that during incubation.
5-Once the incubation process is finished an audible and
visual alarm will activate to indicate the user to remove
the swab from the reading cone or completely from the
pen (Figure 3). This alarm will continue for 30 seconds.
During this period, the swab has to be removed.
NOTE: after swab removal, it is advisible to shake
once downwards and to hit the device gently against
button for 1 second to
buttons for 3 seconds.

a solid surface in order to remove possible bubbles.
6-Once the swab has been withdrawn, and the pen
is in the incubation position (Figure 3), press
button to confirm the swab was removed. The rea-
ding will be indicated by a continuous alarm, after the
blinking alarm, which will last 3 seconds.
If this step is not completed within 30 seconds
after finishing the incubation, the reading will
automatically cancel. The protein pen will be-
come useless and the incubation/reading pro-
cess will reset to the initial stage.
7-Once the audible alarm is finished, the incubator
will record the calibration configuration. Calibration
will be confirmed by printing a ticket.
Reading Process:
1-Press and hold the
enter to PRO program selection mode. A beep will
sound and lights corresponding to PRO programs
enabled in your firmware version will start blinking.
Press
button as many times as necessary to
select the required program. Then wait three seconds
to confirm the selection. The incubator will emit two
beeps indicating that a program has been selected.
Other products programs may be chosen with the lights
of same panel with the previous IC10/20FR incubator
firmware update.
2-Use the PRO1 pen to take the sample from the surfa-
ce to be analyzed. For this, follow directions described
in Figure 1 (Also explained on PRO1's directions for use).
3-Once the solutions contained within the device have
been correctly mixed and the swab is immersed into
this solution, proceed with incubation. For this, insert
the pen on the incubation/reading position (Figure
2). Make sure to place PRO1 as it is indicated on the
incubator label. When PRO1 is inserted in the correct
position, it cannot be rotated (Figure 2).
4-Press and hold the
iniciate the incubation and reading process. The li-
ghts

will start blinking.
5-Once the incubation process (15 minutes 60 °C) is
finished, an audible and visual alarm will activate to
indicate the moment to remove the swab from the
reading cone or completely from the pen (Figure 3).
This alarm will continue for 30 seconds. During this
period, the swab has to be removed.
NOTE: following swab removal, it is advisable to sha-
ke once downwards and to hit device gently against
a solid surface in order to remove possible bubbles.
6-Press
button to confirm the swab has been
removed.
If this step is not completed within 30 seconds
after finishing the incubation, the reading will
automatically cancel.
