5.2.1 Retracting maxillar anterior teeth
If the desired distalization is achieved, amda
skeletal anchorage of the molars, e.g. to retract the upper incisors. Loosen
the anterior stop screw, push it towards posterior using mosquito forceps
and tighten it again. Then, tighten the distal stop screws. Next, bond
brackets to the upper jaw teeth. After the leveling phase, the upper
incisors can be retracted.
5.2.2 Retention phase
If the desired distalization of the molars and retraction of the upper
incisors is achieved, amda
both the anterior and the posterior stop screws. If, after the molars have
been distalized and the upper incisors have been retracted, the molars
show a mesial rotation, they can be derotated during this phase. To do
this, bend the amda
direction and remount them.

for retention.
