MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE

CAUTION! – System maintenance must be performed by technical
and qualified personnel, in strict observance of safety standards as
envisaged by current legislation and the safety precautions stated in
STEP 1 - "General safety warnings and precautions", at the start of
this manual.
Note – If the system is equipped with other devices not mentioned in this
manual, follow the instructions in the relative maintenance schedules.
Considering normal domestic use of the automation, periodic checks of
the system are recommended every 6 months or, in the case of frequent
use and high speed movement of the leaf, on completion of a set number
of manoeuvres.
To calculate this number of manoeuvres, refer to the parameter estimated
durability (see "Product technical specifications"), planning maintenance
on completion of every 10% of manoeuvres as set in this parameter:
for example, if total durability is estimated at 100,000 manoeuvres, main-
tenance must be scheduled every 10,000 cycles.
When maintenance is required, the following checks and replacements
must be made:
A. Disconnect all electric power sources, including any buffer batteries.
B. Check all automation materials for wear; also check the condition
of moving parts (pinion and rack) and whether there are any signs of
erosion or oxidation of structural parts: if necessary parts that are not
in optimal condition.
C. Ensure that the product is securely anchored to the fixing surface
and that all nuts are tightened fully down.
D. Check efficiency of the manual release mechanism; the force
required to activate the release must be less than 220 N.
E. Reconnect the power sources and perform the checks below in
the following sequence:
1 Using a transmitter, test gate opening and closing, ensuring that leaf
movement is as specified (Note - on restoral of power the first manoeu-
vre command will be executed at low speed, regardless of the type of
speed set).
Test several times to assess smooth operation of the gate and check
for any defects in assembly or adjustment and any possible points of
friction.
2 Check operation of all system safety devices one at a time (photocells,
sensitive edges, etc.). Photocells: Activate the device during an Open-
ing or Closing manoeuvre and check that the control unit stops the
manoeuvre and activates a total inversion of the movement (the flashing
light emits 2 flashes, twice). Sensitive edges: Activate the device during
an Opening or Closing manoeuvre and check that the control unit stops
the manoeuvre and activates a brief inversion of the movement (the
flashing light emits 4 flashes, twice).
3 To check the photocells, and to ensure there is no interference with oth-
er devices, proceed as follows: intercept the optic axis joining a pair of
photocells (fig. 47) passing a cylinder first (diameter 5 cm and length 30
cm) first close to the TX photocell, then close to the RX and lastly at the
centre between the two . Ensure that in all cases the device engages,
changing from the active status to alarm status and vice versa, and that
the envisaged action is generated in the control unit (for example move-
ment inversion in the Closing manoeuvre).
4 After positioning an obstacle on the trajectory of gate closing, activate a
Closing manoeuvre and check that the automation activates inversion
as soon as the gate comes into contact with the obstacle (safety
manoeuvre).
CAUTION! – Use a piece of wood as the obstacle (length 50 cm)
with a sufficient section to ensure impact with the gate leaf. Then
position the obstacle as shown in fig. 46.

MAINTENANCE REGISTER

Important – This register must be given to the automation owner after
compilation of all required parts.
This register must list all maintenance operations, repairs and modifica-
tions performed. The Register must be updated on each operation and
stored in a safe place for future inspections by authorised organisations.
This Maintenance Register refers to the following automation:
model: .............................,
serial n ................................,
installation date .............................,
installation location ...................................................................................
.................................................................................................................
.................................................................................................................
.................................................................................................................
.................................................................................................................
...............
The following enclosed documents are part of the Register:
1) - Maintenance schedule
2) - ............................................................................................
3) - ............................................................................................
4) - ............................................................................................
5) - ............................................................................................
6) - ............................................................................................
According to the enclosed document "Maintenance Schedule", mainte-
nance operations must be performed at the following intervals:
every ............. months, or every ............. manoeuvre cycles, depend-
ing on which event occurs first.
