BEARINGS, GOVERNOR (FURLING) SHAFT
Replace bearings on H20, H40 and H80-80 when sufficient
play exists to cause operating noise or casting contact.
Noticeable play or bearing clearance is standard with
plastic sleeve type. Normally, only the plastic sleeve
bearing needs replacement. Governor bearings on 175
should have just perceptible play and little or no loss of
lubricant.
Separate the two halves of the aluminum casting on the
H20, H40, H80-80 by backing out the set screw, (see
exploded view opposite) on the upper half engaging the
pivot shaft and pulling the two halves sufficiently apart to
hook and remove the wire retainer and disconnect the stator
wires from the brush wires.
Units with double needle bearings and a separate nylon
thrust washer should be updated with the plastic,
permanently lubricated type shoulder bearing. (Contact
factory for part.) Heat the casting around bearings with a
propane torch and use a hook to pull out bearings.
Check governor shaft for wear. Remove if necessary, by
removing retaining nut, heating casting around shaft with
torch and pushing or driving shaft out from stud end.
On 175 remove the governor pivot bolt, drive the pivot
bearing spacer (not the bearing) and opposite bearing out.
The remaining bearing may now be removed.
Reassemble in reverse order.

Reemplace los rodamientos en el H20, H40 y H80-80 cuando haya desgaste que ocasione ruido en la operación o roce
con la carcasa. Cuando hay bujes de tipo plástico es común encontrar un juego notorio o luz en los rodamientos. Nor-
malmente se reemplaza únicamente el rodamiento provisto de buje plástico. Los rodamientos del regulador de ángulo en
el modelo 175 deben tener un juego apenas perceptible y poco o ninguna pérdida de lubricante.
Para separar las dos mitades de la carcaza de aluminio en los modelos H20, H40 y H80-80, (Vea la página opuesta) des-
enrosque el conjunto del perno en la parte trasera superior; en la mitad superior se traba el eje de giro y se apartan las
dos mitades suficientemente para enganchar y remover el soporte de los cables y así desconectar los cables del estator
que vienen de las escobillas.
Los rodamientos de doble aguja y arandelas de empuje de nylon en algunas unidades, deben ser cambiados por roda-
mientos tipo shoulder de plástico permanentemente lubricados. (Contacte a la fábrica para el envío de la parte). Caliente
la carcasa alrededor de los rodamientos usando un soplete de propano y utilice un extractor para retirarlos.
Revise el desgaste del eje. Remuévalo, si es necesario, retirando la tuerca retenedora, calentando la carcasa alrededor del
eje con un soplete y sacándolo, halando o empujando la parte sobresaliente.
En el 175 remueva el perno del pivote del regulador de ángulo, retire el espaciador del rodamiento (no el rodamiento) y
retire también el rodamiento opuesto. Ahora retire el otro rodamiento.
Reensamble en orden inverso al descrito.
