Table: Symptoms of EZ-WIRE System Center Problems
Symptom
1. Propeller turns slowly, even in
strong wind
2. Display is dark
3. Display readings erratic
4. Display inaccurate
5. Doesn't regulate, red light off and
heater is cold
6. Doesn't regulate, red light on and
heater is cold
7. Heater always on, red light on
8. Heater always on, red light off

Possible Cause
a. Wind Switch OFF
b. Shorted diode
c. Dead Battery
d. Short in wiring to generator
a. Battery dead or disconnected
b. Circuit board fuse blown
c. Wrong battery volts
d. Display is bad
a. Meter selector switch
b. Circuit Board Damp or wet
c. Circuit Board bad
d. Display Bad
a. Needs adjustment
b. Circuit Board Bad
a. Battery volts below setting
b. Needs adjustment
c. Circuit Board bad
a. Heater burned out or disconnected
or wired wrong
b. Bad connection from Circuit Board
to FET
c. FET switch burned out
a. Wrong voltage setting
b. Needs adjustment
c. Circuit Board bad
a. FET switch shorted
b. FET switch grounded

Correction
i. Move switch to "ON"
i. Replace. Shorted diode is one
connected to "Wind" Terminal that
stops wind generator when
connected. See "TEST FIXTURE"
i. Charge or remove loads
i. See "Table of Electrical Problems"
i. Charge or remove loads/check fuse
i. Replace fuse, dry off board.
ii. If it blows again see "EZ-WIRE
CIRCUIT"
i. See "CHANGING SYSTEM
BATTERY VOLTAGE"
i. Replace
i. Use contact cleaner, rotate switch
through all positions dozen times
ii. Replace switch
i. Let dry
ii. Spray with electrical water
proofer
i. Replace or send in for repair
ii. See "EZ WIRE CENTER
TROUBLE SHOOTING"
i. Replace
i. See "CALIBRATION PROCEDURE"
i. Replace Circuit Board
i. Adjust setting. Check battery with
voltmeter. See NORMAL
OPERATION, "AUTO CHARGE
REGULATOR"

ii. Check voltage select jumper

i. Open cabinet and check heater ele-
ments/check connections: see
"CHANGE DIVERSION LOAD
VOLTAGE"
i. Measurement should be 8-11 Volts
DC between small wire connection
at FET and Battery.
i. Replace or repair

i. Loosen FET mounting screws and
inspect for burrs, shorts.
