The electrical circuitry of this equipment is designed to be safe under the following
environmental conditions:
Indoor use.
Altitude up to 2000m.
Temperature range 5-40°C.
Maximum relative humidity 80% (at 31°C) or 50% (at 31°C - 40°C).
Installation category II, Pollution degree 2, Class 1 equipment (no pollution, dry non-
conductive pollution, or temporary conductivity caused by condensation).
There are no special ventilation requirements, provided the recommended working
temperatures / humidities are not exceeded.
Pipette
Connect the pipette to the MININEPH
(see fig. 2.2.3) to the round pipette socket on the MININEPH
that the tabs on the outer ring of the plug are slotted into the grooves on the socket and
secure by twisting the outer ring by a quarter turn. Push the pipette tubing onto the

Waste Pot
Attach a waste pot holder to the back of the analyser in the area below the pipette tip. The
holder will fix magnetically to the analyser. Remove the lid from the waste pot and place it in
the holder.
Buffer
Open the drawer at the front of the analyser and unscrew the bottle connected to the tube
labelled „B‟. Screw on a fresh bottle of MININEPH
any other on-board buffer is required, place the bottle of buffer onto line „C‟. The analyser
will prompt for the buffer to be primed at the start of a session of assays. Prime if the buffer
bottle has just been replaced or there are bubbles present in the buffer line. Ensure that the
buffer bottle is full before priming. All assays in UPC mode use buffer drawn from line „B‟. If
any buffer other than MININEPH
thoroughly primed with the new buffer before use.
If the analyser is to stand for more than 48 hours without being used it must be primed with
air to prevent the possibility of salt build up causing a blockage in the fluid lines. Start an
assay and proceed until asked to select whether to prime. Unscrew and remove the buffer
bottles and continue to prime the analyser.
4.4 OPERATION
Plug the power cord into the power inlet then connect the MININEPH
supply and switch on, using the power on/off switch. (See fig 2.2.2).
SET UP MODE
This mode is used when installing the MININEPH

Language.
Time.
Date.
Operator ID.
