V. SET UP & USE OF YOUR WHEELCHAIR
V. Axle Arm
1. Adjusting Axle Arm Angle
a. Locate the set screw on each side of the frame (Fig. 49:A).
b. Loosen the set screw on each side of the frame using an M3 Allen wrench. Do not remove.
c. Adjust footrest tube up or down to achieve the desired height (Fig. 49:B).
d. Ensure both sides are adjusted equally.
2. Adjust Axle Tube Position
a. Using 24mm wrench, remove axle sleeve nuts (Fig. 50:B), axle sleeve (Fig. 50:A) and wash-
ers (Fig. 50:C). Repeat on opposite side of chair.
b. Align axle tube with desired hole in axle plate.
c. Replace axle sleeves with nuts and washers, ensuring that axle tube position is the same on
both sides of chair.
d. Repeat for opposite side of chair, ensuring axle bar angle is the same on both sides of the
chair.
NOTE: Change in seat height can be achieved with negligible change in wheelbase by
simultaneously changing axle arm angle along with axle tube position (See Fig. 49, positions B and
C as an example). Similarly, wheelbase can be changed with negligible change in seat height (See
Fig. 49, positions C and D as an example).
