Description/Intended Use

The full face masks listed above are facepieces conforming to
EN 136 CL. 3 and are marked with the CE mark of conformity. In addition,
the full face masks meet the flame engulfment requirements stipulated in
EN 137. They are part of the mask-helmet combination. The full face masks
protect the face and eyes against aggressive media. Special goggles are
available for users who wear spectacles.
The full face mask has two tensioners for fastening to the helmet.
A screen wiper on the inside of the visor, provides plain visibility. The
screen wiper coated in absorbant leather is activated by the operating lever
placed on the outside.

Ambient temperature: –30
C to 120
The plug connection (rapid action coupling) can be used for closed-circuit
breathing apparatus. Only use certified closed-circuit breathing apparatus!
Use
Put in the closed-circuit breathing apparatus
1)
Put on the helmet
: To ensure a perfect seal of the mask, your forehead
must be entirely bare. If necessary, smooth your hair back from your fore-
head.
Put on the full face mask: A beard or sideburns where the mask fits
against the face will cause leaks! The full face mask should not be used by
people with beards and sideburns. The bow of glasses under the mask
seal also causes leaks. A spectacle frame should be used in such cases.
Place the neck band around your neck. Loosen the chin strap of the hel-
met. Grip both tensioners and push the top edge of the full face mask
under the helmet against your forehead. Tighten both tensioners simultane-
ously by pulling them back at the same time, and then hook them in the ten-
sioner grips on both sides of the helmet. Straighten the mask, and fasten
the chin strap under your chin without overtightening it.
Checking: With the aid of an assistant, check
that the full face mask is correctly fitted. The
tensioners (1) must be tight. If not, adjust the
head netting in the helmet.
1 Remove cap from the plug-in coupling and
press the plug-in coupling into the full face
mask until they engage. Open the cylinder
valve, follow the Instructions for Use of the
closed-circuit breathing apparatus.
Carry out leak test:
2 Tightly squeeze the inspiration hose and
breathe in until a vacuum is produced.
Hold your breath for about 10 seconds. The
suction must be maintained, and no air must enter the mask from outside.
Repeat the leak test two to three times.
Report to operation only with an airtight full face mask!
Leaks reduce the period of use.
CAUTION! If a lamp holder is fitted to the helmet and you bump into an
obstacle, this may cause the mask to leak.
In this case, immediately leave the danger zone.
If the visor shows condensation:
3 Swing the screen wiper with the operation
lever outside at the visor two to three times.
Finally, set the screen wiper in a vertical
position in the middle of the visor.

Extreme operating conditions

In case of low temperatures: Treat the inside of the visor with the antimist-
ing agent "klar-pilot" fluid to prevent it from fogging up
In case of high temperatures: If the visor is damaged, leave the danger
zone immediately.
In case of chemicals: Some substances, e.g. H
absorbed by the material of the full face mask, especially silicon, and may
possibly diffuse into it.
In explosion-hazard areas: Treat the mask with antistatic spray or use a
water screen.
