FIGURE 15 - BELT TENSIÓN
IMPORTANT
1.
The tension is incorrect if belt forms and arc at the motor's pulley, as if it would leave the grooves, when the
compressor is operating at maximum pressure.
2.
In the ideal tension, the belt completely supports itself on the motor's pulley traction arc (right side).
3.
When the tension of the belts is incorrect, they will overheat and slip. A squealing sound may be noticed.
4.
Another way to check the belt tension is to monitor the air end's rpm and observing its variation.
5.
The belt must be replaced when they show signs of wear.
1.2 WITH THE COMPRESSOR ON:
A.
Check the differential pressure of the air/oil separator element. When the differential pressure gauge (item

separator element item (Figure 17, page 53).
B.
Check operating temperature. It should be between 80° and 95°C or 176° and 203°F.
Note:
Above 115°C or 239°F, the Electronic Interface will shut off the compressor due to the overheating (SRP
3040E).
Version (SRP 3040) will shut off the compressor to the action of the thermostat.
C.
Oil level (Figure 17, page 53):
1.
If the level has fallen to within or below the oil level sight (item ) service the oil as follows:
1.1
For an accurate oil level reading, turn off the compressor and wait for the oil to settle and foam to
diminish.
1.2
Allow approximately three minutes for air to escape from the air/oil tank and SLOWLY open the fill plug
(item ).
2
1.3
Fill up with oil up to the maximum height of the oil level sight.
1.4
Install and tighten the plug. The plug is self-sealing. Therefore avoid over-tightening.
1.5
Turn on the compressor and check the oil level. If the sight is not covered, repeat the previous
procedures.
Notes:
- The oil level sight is the static minimum normal level indicator.
- It is expected that oil servicing will be necessary at the one thousand hour (1,000) maintenance
!
interval. Therefore, it can be logical and practical to accomplish the servicing and routine
maintenance simultaneously.
2.
EVERY 1,000 HOURS
!
Change the compressor oil (see note important below) (item , Figure 19, page 53).
