5. Sharpen the blade with a file, confirming
sharpening both sides equally;
6. Make sure the blade is balanced. Use a
screwdriver and hold the blade parallel to the
horizontal plane, as shown in Figure 1-(1);

7. A blade that is balanced will stay parallel
to the ground; otherwise, the heavy side
will rotate toward the ground. Sharpen the
heavy side until the blade is balanced.
