Disconnect the mains plug before chan-
ging the setting on the device
Mount handgrip
The device must only be
operated with the handgrip
mounted.
Depending on the method of working,
tighten the handgrip (1). On the device,
select the left or right thread for the handle
(2), depending on how you work (see illus-
tration
)
Assemble/set protective
hood/demounting
Adjust the protective hood such that any
sparks or detached parts cannot hit either
the user or any bystanders.
The­protective­hood­must­also­be­positi-
oned such that the sparks cannot ignite
combustible parts, including those in the
surroundings.
Demounting the grinding
disc:
1. Press the spindle stop button (6).
2.­ Turn­the­uptake­spindle­(11)­until­the­
stop button holds the uptake spindle in
a­fi ­ xed­position.­Keep­the­spindle­stop­
button (6) depressed.
3. Retighten the clamping nut (10) using
the chuck key (8). You can now release
the spindle stop button (6).
4. Remove the locknut (10), the adapter
fl ­ ange­(9)­and­the­cutting­disc/grinding­
disc/brush from the uptake spindle
(11).
Attaching the guard cover:
1. First, place the open side of the guard
cover (4) on the tool and then fold the
whole guard cover (4) towards the
tool.
The­recesses­in­the­guard­cover­must­
be placed exactly on the grid (12) on
the tool.
2. Push the guard cover (4) towards the
tool and turn it to the required position.
3.­ Turn­the­guard­cover­(4)­into­the­working­
position.­The­closed­side­of­the­guard­
cover must always face the operator.
4. Readjust the position of the guard co-
ver­if­you­fi ­ nd­during­use­that­it­does­
not provide optimum protection.
Removing the guard cover:
1. Push the guard cover (4) towards the
tool and turn it so that the recesses in
the guard cover line up exactly with the
grid (12) on the tool.
The­open­side­of­the­guard­cover­is­
now facing the tool.
2. Grasp the guard cover (4) at the
closed part of the guard cover.
3. Fold the guard cover (4) with the open
side facing the tool as shown and pull
it up to remove it.

Fitting the attachment
1. If necessary, remove the disc for better
access, see "Installing/changing disc".
2. Fit the attachment (4.1) onto the guard
cover (4).
3. Push the attachment (4.1) onto the gu-
ard cover (4) until it clicks into place.
