The J 41413-200 Evaporative Emissions System Tester (EEST) was designed to be installed onto
the J 41413 EVAP Pressure/Purge Diagnostic Station. (The EEST replaces the entire gauge panel
that was a part of the original J 41413.) The EEST will perform all functions of the J 41413, as well
as several new functions to help you diagnose the vehicle's evaporative emissions system.

Initial Assembly

1. Locate your J 41413 EVAP Pressure/
Purge Diagnostic Station.
2. Close the nitrogen tank valve.
3. Remove the four screws that secure the
pressure/vacuum gauge assembly panel
to the EVAP cart, and remove the
assembly from the cart. Remove the top
storage bin. Remove the regulator hose
from the pressure/vacuum gauge
assembly panel, and retain for later use.
(The gauge assembly and top bin will not
be used for this application and may be
discarded, if desired.)
4. Unpack the tester from its shipping carton.
Note: We recommend that you enlist the
assistance of another person to help
assemble the tester to the EVAP cart.
5. Bring the tester up through the EVAP
cart's handlebar, and place it on the two
tabs located on the bracket on the cart.
See Figure 1. Important: Slightly rotate
the tester to one side so the remote
cable clears the handlebar.
6. Using an Allen wrench and the Allen-
head screws (supplied), fasten a
handlebar bracket to each side of the
tester. See Figure 2. Fasten the remote
switch cord wrap to the tester as shown.
