1. Power
supply
''on/off''
with
2-colour
(red/green)
standby
indicator
When the main power button (()| at the
back of the set) is pressed to on, your TV set
enters the standby mode, in which the stand-
by indicator lights red. When the standby
on/off button ((')| on the remote control
transmitter or on the TV set) is subsequently
pressed to on, the power indicator turns
green and the TV picture comes on, with the
channel number appearing
in the upper
right corner of the screen.
Pressing the power on/off button again turns
the screen off and returns the set to standby
mode, with the standby indicator turned back
to red.
if the standby on/off button is pressed to on
after the main
power
button
has
been
pressed to on, a channel number is dis-
played for about 10 seconds.
Note: Blue Back Off-Timer
ff noise appears in TV or VCR mode, the
screen turns blue in approximately ten se-
conds. The blue back off-timer is then en-
gaged and will turn the TV off automatically in
15 minutes.
The blue back off-timer is inoperative when
the TV is in preset mode or in the reali channel
search mode.
2. Sound volume
Press the volume button (A) to increase the
sound volume.
Press the volume button (V/) to decrease the
sound volume.
The sound volume is indicated by the 11
green rectangles "m™" following the
'* sal''
mark in the upper part of the screen. The rec-
tangles will turn red from left to right when
the volume is increased.
3. Channel selection
Each time the channel (A) button is pressed
(on the TV or the remote control transmitter),
the channel
programme
number
is dis-
played on the top section of the screen and
will change in the following order: 1, 2, 3 ...
98, 99, 1. Each time the channel {V) button is
pressed (on the TV or the remote control
transmitter), the channel programme num-
ber is displayed on the top section of the
screen and will change in the following ord-
er: 99, 98, 97 ... 2, 1, 99, 98.

Select the channel you want by using these
buttons.
When a channel that is not stored is select-
ed, it can be stored as described in "'How to
adjust the channel setting''
Notes:
1. When either channel selector (A or V) is
held down, channel programme numbers
will be selected and displayed sequential-
ly at an interval of 1.0 second.
. Ifthe channel selector (A or V) is pressed
and held for more than 3 seconds during
teal channel selection, the Auto Channel
Search feature is activated. To stop auto
channel search, press the channel selec-
tor {A or V) a second time.
. The channel selectors (A/V) on the TV
sei have the same function as the channel
selectors (A/V) on the remote control
transmitter.
4. Headphones terminal
Control! the volume with the volume control
A/V buttons (on the remote control trans-
mitter) or the volume buttons (on the TV set).
Insert the headphone plug all the way into
the headphone jack.
When headphones are plugged in, sound
cannot be heard from the TV speakers.
5. Sound source switch
If the sound is heard only from one speaker
while the signal via the 21-pin A/V terminal or
21-pin Euro-SCART is mono, switch fo the
"¥" position so the sound is heard from
both speakers.
Note:
lf this switch is set to the 'VY' position while
the signal via the 21-pin A/V terminal or 21-pin
Euro-SCART
is stereo, the same
sound
is
heard
from
both
speakers.
In this event,
switch to the "COD" position so the stereo
sound is heard.
6. Viewing playback of a video cas-
sette on an S-VHS VCR or an S-VHS
Camcorder.
*Connect an SVHS VCR or SVHS Cam-
corder to the TV set as shown in the illustra-
tion on page 15.
¢ Set the S-VIDEO switch located behind the
door to the ON position.
«Set the TV to the VIDEO mode using the
TV/VIDEO
switch on the remote control
transmitter. (The S-VIDEO indicator will il-
luminate ''red'').
¢Play back a cassette recorded with an
S-VHS VCR or an SVHS Camcorder.
Note:
The clear visual images produced by the
S-VHS system can be enjoyed only when play-
ing back a cassette recorded with the SVHS
system.
