The machine status in energy savings mode will be signalled to the user by the slow flashing of
the manual dose key LED 4.
To exit machine stand-by mode, press the manual dose key 4, it will turn on with the 3 LEDs
flashing for 10 seconds, then the machine will be ready for use.

MAKING COFFEE
IMPORTANT
• Every time the machine is switched on the dispensing unit is "cold". It is recom-
mended that the dispensing unit be warmed up before making any coffee by
pressing button 4
this point, the dispensing unit has reached the ideal temperature to correctly
extract the organoleptic properties from the coffee contained in the capsule.
• The capsule 9 must be inserted in the opening shown in figure 3. Close cover 7 in
order to introduce the coffee capsule into the coffee machine.
• Never, for any reason, use tools or fingers to force the capsule into the opening.
• If it is excessively difficult to insert the capsule, empty the used capsule container.
MAKING COFFEE IN MANUAL MODE
1. Lift cover 7 of the coffee dispensing unit and place a new coffee capsule 9 in the holder
(figure 3).
2. Close the cover and place a cup beneath the coffee dispensing spout 8.
3. Press and release button 4
4. When the required amount of coffee has been obtained in the cup, press button 4
to stop the dispensing.
5. Dispensing stops automatically after approximately 1 1/2 minutes if it is not stopped manu-
ally by pressing button 4
MAKING COFFEE IN AUTOMATIC MODE
1. Lift cover 7 of the coffee dispensing unit and place a new coffee capsule 9 in the holder
(figure 3).
2. Close the cover and place a cup beneath the coffee dispensing spout 8.
3. Press and release button 5
4. The pouring stops automatically when the programmed amount of coffee has been dispensed.
RoUtinE MaintEnanCE
CLEANING COFFEE DISPENSING UNIT
In order to optimise the operation of the dispensing unit and to keep it always in perfect working
order it should be cleaned weekly as follows.
1. Lift cover 7 of the coffee dispensing unit and use cleaning device 13, supplied with the SM
MINI coffee machine, to drop the empty capsule into the capsule container 11 (figure 8).
2. Close cover 7 and press the manual coffee dispensing button 4

3. Interrupt dispensing after about 15 seconds.
4. Lift cover 7 and, using cleaning device 13 again, press on the jaws of the unit, so that they
perform a few operations without a capsule (figure 8).
